Coaching or Therapy

What’s best for you?

Therapy and Coaching are both useful tools in processing life challenges.  I am a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), which qualifies me as a therapist in New Mexico and Oklahoma.  I am also an ACC (Associate Certified Coach) through the International Coaching Federation. This allows me to work with a variety of people from all over the world.

Therapy provides a space for a variety of issues, from everyday challenges to acute mental health issues that pose continuous challenges. Generally, therapy is more in depth support. The emphasis in therapy is healing past wounds so that the client can move forward with updated skills.

Coaching emphasizes coping skills that can be utilized immediately to help clients move forward in an intentional manner.  The client identifies goals each session that determines the direction of the work.

The best way to determine which path is best for you is to set up a free consultation and we can talk.

Therapy

Coaching

Client Testimonials

I was feeling unfulfilled in my job, my living situation, my relationships and in myself. Katherine met me with empathy and compassion and took the time to get to know me and understand my situation.

Katherine worked with me in anticipation of a big move I was planning across the country to live closer to family. With her support, I was able to pull myself out of survival mode during a year I was in limbo.

I was feeling stuck, and stagnant, but Katherine gave me the tools I needed to make it a pivotal year for learning and growth. Katherine, thank you for helping me understand myself a little better!

I had the privilege to work with Katherine after discovering my paternity was a lie. She helped me write letters to my paternal family and navigate the betrayal trauma I suffered… I’m happy to say that contact was a success!

Katherine taught me how to recognize patterns and be curious, practice self-compassion, voice my needs with kindness, have higher expectations for how others treat me, and stay grounded in my worth.

Thanks to Katherine I feel confident that I’m going to be able to sustain more balance through the peaks and valleys of my life, and I’m already practicing in this new chapter.

Having Katherine as my therapist was such a wonderful experience… From the very beginning, she brought a sense of calm, realism, and understanding that helped me begin to recenter myself and rebuild a sense of order.
